Our tutors are ready to get teaching if you are ready to get learning! Líonra Leitir Ceanainn’s Irish classes will be starting in September and there are various levels available. Down below you can find all the details about the classes plus links to book a course and buy the appropriate book for it. You can pay online or call in to the office to pay by cash or card but your place is not guaranteed until payment is completed. Classes last 1.5 hours and you will progress better if you spend 10 – 15 minutes every day going over what you have learned and also trying to speak Irish every day. Tá Céimeanna Comhrá 1 foirfe do thosaitheoirí. This course, Céimeanna Comhrá 1, is perfect for beginners. All our courses emphasise the importance of speaking Irish and this course will give you a good basis for simple conversations. Thosaigh grúpa ar an chúrsa Céimeanna Comhrá 2 san Earrach agus beidh siad chun leanúint ar aghaidh leis ar an chúrsa seo. This is the second half of the Céimeanna Comhrá 2 course which began in the Spring. It runs on Wednesday MORNING 10:30 – 12:00 in the training room at the Pastoral Centre. Beidh Céimeanna Comhrá 2 ag tosú tráthnóna Dé Céadaoin 24 MF agus grúpa nua ag tabhairt faoi. A new group will be beginning Céimeanna Comhrá 2 on Wednesday evenings from 24 Sept. This course is suitable for anyone who is able to have a very basic conversation in Irish. If you have done Céimeanna Comhrá 1 or have done Irish at school this may bethe course for you. Beidh giota oibre de dhíth go rialta ó rang go rang chun an leas is mó a bhaint as an chúrsa. Céimeanna Comhrá 3 is suitable for people with fairly good Irish who are able to have a conversation. You could say it is an ‘upper-intermediate’ class. A wee bit of work each day between classes is needed to get the best from the course. We have a book club that meets in the evening once every six weeks. We have social events like festivals, family activities, pop-Gaeltachts and more – all good opportunities to speak Irish. Many of the shops around the town welcome Irish particularly those that have the ‘Grá don Ghaeilge’ sign in the window – and you don’t need to be fluent, just use what you have. Take every opportunity to speak Irish even if it is just saying ‘Go raibh maith agat’. You will be amazed how often you get a response back in Irish! Add a little richness to life – speak some Irish every day!
